This Butler team is GOOD.

And Matt Howard is having the fricken night of his life.

I have followed Butler for a long time (my dad played basketball there for a couple years) and I think this could be the best Butler team I have ever seen.

Howard is very impressive. If only we had a better facility he might be playing for us.

Butler probably missed their first 12 3 pointers. They have OWNED the Aggies in the 2nd half.

Butler has always been a live by the 3, die by the 3 team.

And right now, they are definitely living!

45-16 in the 2nd half.

And its over... Aggies go down HARD.

No wonder they don't typically play "mid majors" on the road.

The 3-point shot is one of the main reasons Butler made that run in the Big Dance a few years ago. Darnell Archey drained one bomb after another.

And now Thad Matta will never play his old school ever again.

Howard has scored in double figures 12 straight games for the #14 Bulldogs.

He's 2nd in scoring at 13.7. He is averaging over 6 boards as well.

He is a tremendous player and it rips me up every game Butler plays to know we were this close to landing him.

Eh...had we landed him he would be planted securely on the bench next to Winbush, McCombs, and HADDIX...just like Charlie has done with all freshman, he would play minimal minutes unless an injury forced Charlie to play him.

If he was a good defender and rebounder, he would play. Juby started when he was a freshman because he could defend. Danny Horace played a lot because he could defend and rebound. Hausfeld played quite a bit as a frosh because he could defend.

If you can defend, rebound, and take care of the ball, you'll play.
